First Computer-Based JCPA Exam and Digital Application Platform Coming Soon

In a significant step toward advancing the certified public accounting profession in the Kingdom—regulated and overseen by the Higher Council for the Regulation of the Accounting Profession, chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade, the first-ever computer-based Jordan Certified Public Accountant (JCPA) exam was held Saturday . The exam was organized by the Licensing and Examination Committee established under the provisions of Temporary Law No. 73 of 2003 Regulating the Accounting Profession and chaired by the President of the Audit Bureau. It took place at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, with 326 candidates participating from across Jordan.

This milestone represents a key phase in a broader reform plan aimed at enhancing the efficiency and credibility of the exam by adopting a modern digital model aligned with international best practices. The exam was conducted in two consecutive sessions and covered two subjects: laws and regulations, and accounting and auditing. It was administered in a secure digital environment that ensures the highest standards of transparency, credibility, and procedural integrity.

The Licensing and Examination Committee supervised the development of the exam content in collaboration with a distinguished group of academic experts and seasoned certified public accountants. The content was developed in line with rigorous professional standards to ensure it is comprehensive and aligned with both the requirements of the profession and practical field applications.

In this context, the programming team at the Audit Bureau has recently completed the development of an integrated digital platform for receiving JCPA exam applications. The system was designed according to international technical specifications for professional certifications, fully tested, and is ready to be launched soon via the government network. It aims to offer candidates a secure, efficient, and reliable digital experience.

This digital transformation is a key step in the efforts led by the Higher Council for Regulating the Accounting Profession to promote transparency and good governance. It will be followed by a series of reforms, including curriculum modernization, expanded training programs, and updated licensing standards—all aimed at enhancing the competence of certified public accountants in line with global best practices.
