Dr. Radi Al-Hamadeen, the President of the Audit Bureau, met with a delegation from the "SIGMA" program, which is part of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), during their visit to the Kingdom. The delegation included Ms. Bianca Breteche, Deputy Head of the SIGMA Program, Mr. Xavier Sisternas, Senior Policy Advisor, Country Manager for Jordan, as well as a local expert and a representative from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

The meeting, held yesterday at the Audit Bureau's premises, primarily focused on exploring avenues for future collaboration. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of audit work, particularly in areas such as internal control, human resource management, the preparation of audit reports, disclosure practices, and digital transformation.

Dr. Al-Hamadeen underscored the critical importance of collaboration between the Audit Bureau and SIGMA, given the Bureau's pivotal role in safeguarding public finances. His Excellency expressed his unwavering commitment to ensuring that this partnership is productive and effective, with the aim of enhancing the quality of audit work.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Hamadeen emphasized that this meeting is an integral part of the overarching endeavor to actualize the esteemed royal vision for a sustainable professional auditing standard. In alignment with the Public Sector Modernization program and international best practices, the goal is to bolster public accountability, fortify the principles of disclosure and transparency, and facilitate the public sector in operating with utmost efficiency and effectiveness. This concerted effort seeks to advance sustainable community development through comprehensive and impartial monitoring of public finances.

It is worth mentioning that the SIGMA Program is a joint initiative of the European Union and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), dedicated to supporting good governance and management in countries in the European Union’s Neighborhood countries, including Jordan.
